Friday Fence 8

Today I wanted to show you the wanna be fences I am up against
but I must say they are very nice ones.
Instead of fences in front of houses we are only allowed 'natural fences'
consisting of hedges and plants

This is a fence at the back of a property, fences are allowed at back and sides
and if you have a corner block you are allowed more
ok I spied a fence behind this one

Hope over to Janis' Blog to see more gorgeous
fences and scenery behind them

  1. I have to say I actually like these hedges as fences. I really miss seeing them as it seem all new houses put up these high 8' monstrosities for privacy.

  2. Hedges do make a lovely natural fence! But you have to keep them pruned! Most of our neighborhoods here in our neck of the woods only allow fences in the back of the houses! Thanks for playiing FF

  3. I prefer a sturdy permanent fence in close surroundings but I like the plantings in front to soften the look.
    Lovely finds!

  4. I started thinking that a fence covered with morning glories would be nice, and from there, wondered if a fence covered in well pruned grape vines would count...

  6. Well done you - great to see the 'green' fences - thankfully we don't have the same restrictions you do, or I would be forever pruning!

  7. Many new home areas in Australia are not permitted to build front fences so home owners find alternative means of representing property lines - hedges or a tightly packed line of pines! Lovely photos!

  8. Your "no hard fences" rule really brings out the creativity of the homeowner. I like to see a fence softened with plantings, but wonder what happens if you have a dog? Guess they never get to come in the front yard? ;-) Do you know the plant name for that tall glossy hedge? Lovely!

  16. I think the hedges and shrubs make for lovely fences and I would imagine some of them are very fragrant at certain times of the year, as well.

Thank you for visiting my Friday Fences image; I'm behind in getting around to everyone.
